Review of Beck Children's Wooden Table with Four Chairs

The photo isn't correct, the table is jet black (looks brown in the photo) and the gray chair is actually pastel blue.Three screws and a washer were missing and one of the chair legs was broken off.All the screws were loose inside the box and scratched some of the furniture pieces.I can't believe the manufacturer would just throw the screws in the box but I didn't find an empty screw bag inside the package.Most of the preinstalled screws for the table top were either loose or stripped and one had fallen out and was floating around inside the box.If you buy this product I strongly recommend you retighten all the screws already installed on the table top to make sure the product is safe for your children.

Despite all the problems I can't say I'm totally disappointed.The table and chairs are a nice height for my two-year-old.They are stable on carpet and don't rock back and forth.I guess you get what you pay for and at this price I was expecting to find some blemishes.However, there's no excuse for a broken chair leg and missing parts.I contacted Amazon Customer Service and they were great.They're sending me a replacement unit and I'll send back the broken one.Hopefully, this busted up unit is a fluke.I'll have to wait and see if I have the same problems with the replacement unit.I'll try to update this review after I get the replacement.

The new unit was better but it still had problems.All the parts were there, no chair legs were broken off, and the screws were in a sealed bag rather than floating around inside the box.However, this product isn't packaged very well and the table top had a large gouge on the side and some chair pieces were scratched or chipped. Fortunately, we had two sets of table and chairs so we were able to pick out the best pieces before sending one back to Amazon.I agree with the other reviewer about the screws and pre-drilled screw holes not matching up well.I had to make some new holes on some parts.Overall I think for the price this product serves its purpose.If it cost any more I wouldn't buy it.I think we'll be able to get 1-3 years use out of it.Between two small kids I assume it will be in shambles by then :-)
