I thought it was made of wood but it's more pressed particle board.The screws end up breaking the "wood" if you screw them in too tight.Part of the chair was broken when it got it.I had already started to put the other stuff together when I found it so I glued it together and moved on.Two of the screws did not go in all theway because the slot for the screwdriver got stripped.One screw was molded incorrectly so bad that it was just a flat piece of metal.I had to find a screw of my own.I essentially have to build this thing myself.I liked the colors for the table and the chairs would have been fine if all had worked accordingly.Wouldn't get this again though.Click Here to see more reviews about: Beck Children's Wooden Table with Two Chairs
