I really like the vanity although it was a little smaller than I expected. It is still very cute though. Also, it arrived with a shattered glass panel. They replaced it for free but it took an extra week or two to arrive. This should cost $100 max but I still like it.

Review of Hall Tree Umbrella Stand - Black

Received it today (1/12/08)I had some immediate doubts as I unpacked it, but I have decided to keep it and it does look nice in my entry.Assembly is not difficult.1 screw for each of the 4 coat hook brackets, tightened easily with the provided allen wrench.The design is less precise than I would expect.There is a pin that fits in one hole and then the single screw.Two screws would be better and stop the slight wobble, even after over tightening.It is not wrought iron, but tube with a wrought iron finish.Still the base is fairly heavy and the unit is stable.The top assembly is two poles that screw together and then down over a double ended all-thread.Be sure to get the thread all the way in to the bottom before putting on the top or again you get some lean and some wobble.I also had to sand off two of the rubber pads a little to get it to sit level on the floor (the floor is level).A little more work on my part than I would have liked, but I still think it was an ok buy and looks nicer than the price.

This sturdy table has served as a Snack Table, Puzzle Board, Play Doh Center,
Board Game Table, Craft Center and Tea Party Central for both our son and daughter.
On occassion, I must admit, it was also used to climb on, sit on and stand on. Not what it was intended for.

The illuminated dial is much too bright and positioned off to one side of the face.Kept me awake.
It would appear that if the bulb ever burned out, there's no way to replace it.
Didn't keep it long enough to find out if the alarm was OK, but had a hunch that it would be unpleasant.

This table was such a great surprise! The Features and Product Descriptions do not mention the rack and pinion mechanism for adding the leaf. It's unquestionsably the smoothest moving table I've ever owned. Nor does it mention the leveling feet already installed on each foot. The table is very sturdy, well-finished, and arrived without any flaws at all. A fantastic value for such a low price.

I just received this yesterday and put it together right away (took about 30-40 minutes).Directions are a little convoluted but it's easy enough (I'm not the most mechanically inclined, but I have done my fair share of Ikea builds).Be patient and meticulous with those directions!The chest is gorgeous!I love it.We obviously haven't had it long to enough to put it to the wear-and-tear test, but it definitely seems durable.And my daughter loves it already!

Review of Train Table - Natural

We ordered this from Walmart for our 3-year-old train enthusiast, and it arrived in a very distressed box, as seems to be common for these tables. The manufacturer simply does not package them properly to ensure the product arrives without damage. Needless to say, ours arrived with a dozen dings, scrapes and chunks gouged out of the wood. I was willing to overlook this seeing as the table is attractive and a great price considering the competition. Installation was simple, but I quickly realized how flimsy this table really is. The entire thing is pressed wood and is held together by very short screws. After owning it for a week, we decided to move it from the living room to our son's bedroom and after removing the top and going to lift it to move it down the hall, the end snapped right off under very little pressure. We promptly returned it and I will never buy another Kidkraft product again. Very cheaply made and not durable in the least. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Review of TERRACE MATES ASPEN Folding End Table / Square

This folding table is not the color you see in the picture. The table in pic has a redish tint to it whereas the one I just received is a tan/brown. I bought it to match my deck chairs that look like the picture. For $80 with shipping (which was very fast) I should send it back but I'm too busy and or lazy to deal with it. I put a coat of linseed oil on it and that helped darken it a bit but of course it is still not like the photo. If you just need a little end table and don't care about the color of the wood Target has some (as of 6/09) for $30. They are like a dark grey color. Hope that helps. BTW For what it's worth the table seems to be well made.

We purchased this dining set after looking around for good deals. The set is well crafted and looks good. Chairs are a little light and sometimes difficult to slide back over carpets. But all in all, I'd recommend this 5-pc set to anyone searching for a good deal on basic, simple, functional dining sets.

Review of MultiUse Modular Table 24"x48" - Graphite

I needed to get a desk for drawing and computer (laptop) work in a small space for a few months. This is the only somewhat ergonomic choice below $300.

Positives:
- Has no "keyboard shelf" like all other cheap desks do. The only thing those are good for is causing RSI by putting an extra 3-4 inches between your lap and the desk top.
- Simple and muted look doesn't clash with other furniture.
- Really pretty cheap, and arrived fairly quickly.

Negatives:
- Extremely poor quality control. The bracket connecting one of the legs to the horizontal bar was bent so assembling was difficult. The parts didn't fit together all the way so there's a gap between the desk top and leg assembly. One of the bolt holes in the desk top had its threads almost completely stripped so it's only held by about one rotation of the bolt. This will eventually break because the bolt is under tension due to the bad fit above.
- The air trapped inside the plastic bag the desk top was in caused my studio to reek like cigarette smoke. I've never experienced anything like this before. Whoever packed it must've been chain smoking on the job.

I got these chair cushions to replace the kind that have the non-slip surface on the underside with no ties.Those cushions had become lumpy and uncomfortable and were always getting pulled off my young child.

I ordered the cariboo changing table after first ordering a cheaper changing table that came with incomplete parts and flimsy materials. Once I decided to just spend the money for this changing table I was very happy when I received it. The table was extremely simple to put together. I think it took me less than a half hour. The materials are also of a high quality - solid wood, and no particle board. Once made, the changing table is simple, sturdy and elegant. I love the fresh look of this table - it only adds to the nursery decor and even our bedroom, which is where we are now keeping the table since our baby is only 2 months old now. I have one, unfortunately not minor, complaint. Because of the beautiful design of this table, the legs extend wider than the space of the table top. This has caused me and my husband to trip on the legs on occasion when we are walking by the table. To combat this problem we moved the table so that the head end is flush against the wall and this has helped and now I rarely trip on the legs. I'm sure part of the problem is that our bedroom is very small - perhaps this would then be a better table for a larger room. Nonetheless, we have gotten used to this quirk and are for the most part happy with this table.

The corner nook looks nice but when we were putting it together the end leg on the small bench side has multiple cracks through it. We have left messages with the company and no one has gotten back to us. So much for customer service.

Review of Natural Sleigh Changing Table

The appeal of this product is low price and nice lines, but be aware that the craftsmanship is far below Ikea, or other prefab products I have purchased. The legs and braces on our changing table had multiple fill spots and three hairline cracks straight out of the box, one split large enough to require glue and clamping. Alignment of dowel and screw holes was poor enough that it took some tricks not in the instructions to get it assembled. Were it not for the "safety brace," the table surface is not substantial enough to hold an infant at all.Basically a piece of, well, shod.

Review of Set of 2 Nail Head Trim Design Dining Parson Chairs

I had been looking for new DR chairs for some time now. I was skeptical about purchasing these's, as the price seemed too good to be true. I was pleasantly surprised, these chairs are wonderful. You can see the quality. Putting them together was a breeze for my husband (with a drill) use it if you have it instead of the allen wrench that comes with them. We ordered two sets of two for my kitchen and I may order more to replace the chairs in my dining room (in a different color when available. Great buy! I have had them for a total of four hours now. If I have issues with longevity I will let you know. But as of right now I could not be more pleased!!

I like this coffee table but am not crazy about it. It is a good price, speedy shipping etc, and I love the Adesso range, it seems to be good quality, easy to put together, nice clean lines - but it's not as great as I was hoping it would be. No specific reason - just somehow not quite right, at least in my living room.Possibly because I secretly want the mirrored coffee table from West Elm, but that's $450, and this was $130... : ). Actually, a few months later I am updating this review - the table looks MUCH better with not much on it. Ie just a vase of flowers and some coasters - it looks fantastic. Before I had too many things on the table (eg box of candles, big plant) - and it obscured the clean lines of the table. So I'm upgrading my rating to four stars, although the website is forcing me stick with my original three...

Purchased 2 sets of these swivel Kitchen Chairs. 4 chairs total. Arrived in good condition. But that is where it ended. 5 weeks after we started using them the weld broke underneath by the swivel. Its a point that was previously welded during manufacture. It simply was not welded 360 degrees around the shaft. A month later the second chair broke at the same spot. A call to Amazon and then to the second selling partner "AtHomeMart" brought me a quick reality check. Only 30 days return offered. No warrantee, no stand behind the product, NO NOTHING! Now the 3rd chair broke for the very same reason. POOR WELD!
I live alone with my wife. 2 people and ocasionally some company. My last Chromecraft chairs lasted 10 years. This is pure junk and not worth buying. Seller doesnt stand behind its products and you are the looser. About $600 of a looser. AVOID. Pure JUNK>>>>

We have two that we use as end tables. Overall, we like them very much. They were well thought out and well packaged, so assembly was quite easy. About the only drawbacks were 1) A minor glitch with assembly steps and 2) The simulated 'leather' tops. As far as assembly, it would make more sense- especially if you're doing the job alone- to secure the external magazine rack to the corresponding side to provide some rigidity before proceeding further. The 'simulated leather' tops are, essentially, paint. An improvement might be to include a clear plastic covering to make the top more durable. (I trimmed down a plastic desk blotter that works nicely.)

Review of 5 Piece Colby Dining Set - Euro Cherry

The table is built solid, very heavy and looks great. However, one of the chair cushions arrived slightly dirty and it is difficult to separate both halves of the table in order to bring the extension leaf up and out. The chairs are also built well. There is some assembly required, but it mainly consists of screwing legs to the tables and chairs. Overall, a great product!

I purchased this table as my Christmas gift to myself and I love it!I was worried about how the table would arrive, giving some of the other reviews.However the table was in perfect condition.I looked over the entire set making sure there weren't any defects. I could not find anything!Plus it shipped within 2 days and arrived at my home in about a week!

The table was very easy to assemble,(but maybe that was because I have put together alot of furniture before).It took me maybe 30 minutes tops.Assembling the chairs was a tedious job, but I guess it needs to be to assure they are secure.

The color looked wonderful to me.I thought it looked very similar to the web pictures.

I have a small 2 bedroom apartment so this table was the perfect size and it adds a wonderful touch of elegance to the apartment!

We got these chairs to complement the table and two chairs bought earlier.The lamb and hen are nice because they are different from the cow and pig designs of the original chairs.However, these chairs are not built in quite the same way as the two chairs shipping with the table.They lack couple of cross-joining planks between the legs.This makes the chairs less sturdy,I already tightened them once after only a month of use.Overall, not a big glitch but something I wish they had not saved on.

Review of Milano Espresso and Mocha Chair

I know... disposable furniture. I hate to say it as much as you hate hearing it (especially at this price) but its true. I have this chair and the sofa and I really like it. But after about a month of light use with the sofa I already know i will have to be careful if I want it to look as nice as when I bought it. Construction is good. Fabric quality is good as well but dont expect to get 4 or 5 years out of it if you actually do any living in your living room.
Also, its not as comfortable as one would like. The padding is thick but stiff. Maybe i have to break it in but how do I do that without making a big dent in the cushion?
Price wise, you will be smart to check and see if these items are available at local furniture stores. If I had to do it over again I would still buy this collection of furniture but would have waited for the price to dropfor it to be a sure bet. And I would also opt for the Rust and Black which looks pretty hot.

Review of Lipper International 598C Toy Chest, Cherry

Not a bad toy chest; seems like they considered many things like the lid does not drop down on little fingers due to stiff hinges and cutouts, but it's also difficult to close - not sure if it's intended. Also air hole in case a little one gets inside and the lid is closed though the chest is not tightly sealed. Parts don't fit together well so the topp scrapes the sides when opening and closing. Kind of expensive for the quality but it looks good. We'll see if it holds up well.

Review of KidKraft Avalon Chair - Aqua

We bought the Avalon chair & table set and two additional chairs. They are beautiful and very strong--adults sit on them with no problem. They are a little big for the smallest children (age 2 and under), but sit even 8 and 9 year olds comfortably. My children use this table for crafts; for dinner parties; etc. The only problem is that the table surface can be easily marked--we have a green marker line across the top and a crayon line up one leg. I'd think that the table could have a more wipe-clean surface. Food stains wipe up easily--but I think that some crayons and markers (and not just permanent ones) can stain the surface.

this table set is very easy to assemble, and built Very well. There is no paperboard, The whole set is solid wood, and roughly 50 bolts in the set. Which makes a very sturdy table and chairs, UPDATE: One year nearly now, and the table is still in good shape, but the finish is VERY POOR, you leave a glass with ice on it over night and gets a little condensation water on it, your gonna have your finish peeling, so I would be cautious in Buying this set. In-less you plan to refinish it in a year
