Review of Giftmark 1406N Solid Wood Childrens Table & Chair Set Natural

We received this table and chairs as a gift for our toddler, and at first I was very excited.After putting it together, it is very sturdy and will easily hold up to climbing, pounding, and other active children's play.However, the overall quality of the table is not as high as I had hoped.

Already, there are several cracks on the side of the table top where the wood was poorly joined.There is also a large flaw in the wood on the surface of the table that leaves a gap.Not a big deal right now, but may become an issue as she starts to care more about her coloring.(The whole is large enough to create a rubbing of the flaw when coloring with a crayon)

Overall I would say that the quality of the wood is high, but the quality control of the manufacture leaves much to be desired.

This table was a gift, and we threw out the packaging before we noticed the flaws. Therefore it is ours to keep.If you buy this very sturdy table, examine it carefully before and after assembly.If you receive one without flaws, it would be a five star item, as it is attractive, functional, and easy to assemble.

This is not just a "kid's" toy, it is a well-built piece of furniture, easy to put together, delivered in great shape and before expected. I highly recommend this product...and my grand daughter loves it. It will last her a very long time and her children will probably be able to use it...It is that well-made. This table set was a gift for my two-year-old daughter.It took over a month to actually get the shipment which was incorrect.The company accidentally sent two sets of chairs with the table.Soon after receiving the packages, I got a call from a very rude woman insisting that I pay for the second set of chairs or return them IMEDIATELY!I had not opened the package and was told that they would send UPS a return label.When UPS arrived, they said that I had to pay for the shipping (of the chairs the company accidentally sent me).I explained the situation to the driver and he allowed me to just "refuse shipment" and pretend that the box arrived just then.A couple weeks later I got another rude call demanding to know where the chairs were.I explained that they were sent back.On top of all the annoying calls and confusion, the chairs were horrible.My daughter stood on one of them (she weighs 25 lbs) and the legs on one side just buckled.There were gaps in the wood and no way to tighten them well.One of the screw holes on the back of one chair top was too big and the screw never even "caught".Also, the company could use a new copy machine.The one-page directions that came with the table and chairs were illegible.Luckily, there are pictures and you can kind of tell what you are supposed to do.I would NEVER purchase anything from this company again!
