..were prohibitive. I emailed Target cust service to see if there was any way they could ship to a Target or a Target distribution center but no such luck. I kept this table along with a set of 2 more chairs in my wish list for a couple weeks and almost bit the bullet but I figured I'd do more research first. We've got several "budget" furniture stores in Albany GA and the first had the smaller version of this table in it but I needed to be able to expand for occasional company. I almost gave up and at the very last place I went, to my surprise, sitting in the dust filled back corner, sure enough there was the table and EIGHT chairs on sale as a floor model for $699.00. The previous price was $895. Still, if ordered the same thing here I would have paid $1057 plus $435 for shipping so my hesitation paid off and I don't have to put anything together. I LOVE the dark espresso finish and I think I'll be coating the top with some varnish and recovering the seats with a bold color. When finished my dining area will be modern with splashes of bold colors so this table with it's X back chairs really make a nice finish. It's huge with the leaf opened 54x54 and the extra two chairs will be nice!! THey also had the mission style pub table right next to it. DO YOUR homework before paying huge shipping costs.This is a nice table but isn't going to be that table that you hand down to your kids years and years from now.
